SESE is presented to our boys at Scoil Iósaif Naofa under three subject headings: history, geography and science.
SESE at Scoil Iósaif Naofa is concerned with the exploration, investigation and development of an understanding of the natural, human, social and cultural dimensions of local and wider environments. It provides opportunities to our boys to engage in active learning, to use a wide range of skills, and to acquire open, critical and responsible attitudes. Each SESE subject plays a distinctive role in fulfilling the aims and objectives of this curriculum area.
Most teachers in the school take a very active approach to the SESE curriculum. The pupils enjoy completing projects on different aspects of the curriculum. This is a great way to learn and the pupils engage very actively with it. One project that the fourth and fifth class completed recently was on the solar system, which is now proudly displayed in the school hall
