Trips / Tours

Scoil Iósaif Naofa provides school tours and short trips to all our classes. These tours have the potential to provide our boys with experiences that complement and supplement their curricular and extra-curricular experiences.  The tours also enhance the relationships between staff and students.  As such, tours significantly enable Scoil Iósaif Naofa to achieve its goals for the holistic development of its students more effectively than might otherwise be the case.

The school tours are organised to the highest standard. All trips are organised with the safety of our boys as the premier consideration. Due concern is also given to achieving value for money for our boys' guardians.

Details of specific tours and trips will be well advertised. Trip rules will also be published in advance and will be tailored to meet the specific demands of the tour.

In February, fifth class pupils went to Pure Skill in Knocknacarra. It was a great trip for the boys organised by Ms Traynor. Pure Skill is a fantastic leisure centre that comprises of many different sports for the pupils to enjoy. Some of the sports include basketball, golf pitching, Gaelic football, hurling and many more. You can see some of the photos in the gallery.

Comenius Project

Oranmore boys national school are fortunate to be part of the Comenius Project. We have been part of this project since September 2008, when we hosted Schools from Copenhagan, France, Wales, and Estonia. Since then, we have attended schools in these countries. In February 2008, our first trip was to Copenhagan. Then we went to France in October 2009 and in the coming weeks, we will be going to Wales.

The projects helps us learn about different cultures and different ways of teaching. The pupils from Oranmore create projects for all the international pupils to enjoy. Projects are mainly based on Irish history and culture. Pupils also create artwork and exchange them between one another.

It is a very educational project which benefits all pupils as well as teachers.
