Physical education (PE) provides children with learning opportunities through the medium of movement and contributes to their overall development by helping them to lead full, active and healthy lives.
 
Scoil Iosaif Naofa provides a balanced range of activities for children. Each child in Scoil Iósaif Naofa is offered the opportunity to take part in a range of supervised sporting activities including Gaelic football, olympic handball, hurling, athletics, swimming and soccer.

In the first term, third class get the opportunity to attend swimming lessons in Clarinbridge. In the second term, it is the fifth class that attend the lessons.
 
The school has developed positive relationships with many sporting bodies within the community. Dedicated volunteers work closely with staff to assist in the many school sporting activities.
